BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners in football and hockey on Monday. Student-athletes from Bethel, Concordia, Saint Mary's and St. Thomas claimed the Conference's weekly honors for Oct. 30 – Nov. 5, 2017.
The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their award-winning performances. This week, Concordia had a pair of student-athletes honored, while Bethel, Saint Mary's and St. Thomas each had one.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated and selected each week by the Conference's sports information directors. Throughout the fall season, team sports (football and hockey) will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming and diving) announced on Tuesday afternoons.
MIAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
So. – Quarterback
Dilworth, Minn. | Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton
Concordia quarterback Blake Kragnes rushed for three touchdowns in the Cobbers' 54-12 win over St. Olaf to help Concordia retain the coveted "Troll" rivalry trophy on Saturday. Kragnes also threw his first career touchdown pass in the game.
MIAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Jr. – Defensive End
Maple Grove, Minn. | Maranatha (Osseo)
Junior defensive end Cameron Monson finished Saturday's 44-22 win over Augsburg on Saturday with two sacks and a pair of fumble recoveries. Monson was part of a Royals' defense that limited the Auggies to less than 300 yards of total offense and 20 yards rushing.

Fergus Falls, Minn.
Freshman running back Rylie Sheridan returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown in the Cobbers' 54-12 victory over St. Olaf on Saturday, marking the team's first kickoff return score since 2013. Sheridan finished the game with 100 kickoff return yards.
MIAC Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week
Saint Mary's University
Sr. – Goalie
Mound, Minn. | Lake Superior State
Saint Mary's senior goalie Aaron Davis made 25 saves with one goal allowed in each of the Cardinals' games over the weekend, which featured a 4-1 victory and 1-1 tie against St. Thomas. Davis boasts a goals-allowed average of 0.99 in four games this season.
MIAC Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week
Sr. – Defender
Lindstrom, Minn. | Chisago Lakes
Senior Allison Borgstrom had a three-point weekend in a sweep of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The St. Thomas captain scored two early goals in Saturday's 4-2 win and assisted on the go-ahead goal in Friday's 2-1 victory. Borgstrom has recorded six goals and three assists in her last six games dating back to last season.
