The Hamline men's cross country team finished third at Saturday's St. Kate's Invitational behind a tremendous individual effort from Colin Rogers (River Falls, Wis.). The senior hung on for a dramatic individual victory, which was his second first-place finish of the 2013 season. For his performance, Rogers was named the MIAC Men's Cross Country Athlete-of-the-Week.
Rogers claimed the individual title at the St. Kate's Invite by completing the 4k course in 12:07.12 to lead a field of 82 runners. He held off a charge by Saint John's Tomas Feichtinger to win the race by just three seconds. Rogers also scored an individual victory earlier this season in a race at Luther College. His first-place finish helped Hamline take third as a team at St. Kate's with a score of 56 points.
