The Carleton women's golf team certainly finished the 2013-14 season in style, winning the team title at the UWEC Blugold Spring Invitational at Wild Ridge Golf Course in Eau Claire, Wis. Leading the way was sophomore Grace Gilmore (Edina, Minn.), who claimed medalist honors in the 70-player field with an especially strong finish to her round, and the season. For her first-place performance, Gilmore was named the MIAC Women's Golf Athlete-of-the-Week.

Gilmore started with an 82 on the first day before surging to the title on day two. She carded a 40 over the front nine of the second round, then caught fire. She drained a 40-foot birdie putt on No. 12 to start a run of four-straight birdies, resulting in a back-nine score of 35 and an 18-hole total of 75 to give her a two-day score of 157. Gilmore finished atop the 70-player field that included five nationally-ranked teams. This season, Gilmore's 18-hole scoring average was 81.7, which was good for seventh-best in the MIAC.

In the team standings, 17th-ranked Carleton carded a two-day total of 643 to emerge as the victory against top-notch competition. The team score was a school record in relation to par, and the Knights beat 19th-ranked Carthage by 20 shots, and 15th-ranked St. Thomas by 27. The Knights' 18-hole scoring average of 323.9 led the MIAC in 2013-14.
