BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – A pair of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) volleyball programs have earned spots in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll, released on Tuesday. Gustavus Adolphus College (7-1) moved up six spots to No. 14 this week, while the University of St. Thomas (7-1) made its season debut at No. 23 in the Poll.

Six of the Gusties' seven wins thus far have come by way of 3-0 sweeps. The defending MIAC Playoff champs began the season with five straight-set victories before suffering a 3-2 loss to Millikin at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational over the weekend.

After dropping the first match of the year against Pacific Lutheran, St. Thomas has rattled off seven straight victories to make the program's first Top 25 appearance of the season. An impressive showing over the weekend that saw the Tommies sweep both No. 10-ranked Northwestern-St. Paul and No. 21-ranked Wisconsin-La Crosse at the Augsburg Invite boosted St. Thomas back into the national conversation.

Two more 7-1 MIAC programs – Bethel University and Augsburg University – also received votes in the latest AVCA Poll. Conference play for MIAC programs begins this week.
