Tessa Myatt broke a 25-year-old program record in the heptathlon by scoring 4,443 points at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on 4/17. Myatt set or tied three personal bests while scoring 448 more points than her previous high score of 3,955. Myatt opened the competition with a time of 16.20 in the 100-meter hurdles, then matched her personal best of 1.59 meters (5' 2.50") in the high jump. She also recorded a shot put distance of 12.75 meters (41' 10") and set another PR in the 200 meters with a time of 28.19. Myatt finished out the competition with a long jump of 4.94 meters (16' 2.50"), an 800-meter run time of 2:32.74, and a javelin throw of 31.24 meters (102' 6") for another personal record. Myatt's final score currently ranks 22nd in Division III.
