Travis Brown shifted the game with his 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, tied for the second-longest kickoff return in recorded Carleton history. Macalester had just scored to go up 10-6 midway through the second quarter when Brown caught the kick at the five-yard line, cut to his right, broke through arm tackles, and raced down the sideline to put Carleton ahead for good in the battle for the Book of Knowledge. He also paced the conference at 49.7 yards per kickoff return last week, averaged 13.0 yards on two punt returns, and averaged 35.5 yards on a pair of punts.
