Kayla Simacek became the Royals' single-season leader for both wins and strikeouts while going 7-0 in the circle last week. On 4/19, she picked up back-to-back complete-game shutouts at Saint Mary's including a no-hitter in game one where she struck out 11 and walked none. She put her name atop the single-season wins list by defeating Hamline on 4/21, striking out 10 in six innings of work for her 20th victory of the year. In game-one against St. Olaf on 4/24, Simacek struck out the side in the third inning, surpassing her own single-season Ks record of 212. She finished the day with two complete-game efforts and a combined 16 strikeouts to increase her season total to 228. In the seven games, Simacek held a 0.98 ERA in 43 innings of work and averaged 10.09 strikeouts per game.
