Mohammed Bati smashed a 13-year-old Augsburg program record in the 8,000-meter distance by 33 seconds, winning his second straight event to open his collegiate career at the Hamline MIAC Preview meet on 9/9. Bati became the first Auggie men's cross country runner ever to break the 25-minute barrier in the 8K, setting a new school mark with a 24:32.34 time -- a 15-second advantage over the second-place finisher in the 74-runner field. The previous Augsburg record of 25:05.6 was set by Brent Haglund in 2009.
