Kiefer Lord tossed another 8.0 shutout frames over a pair of outings last week, collecting 12 strikeouts with only two hits allowed with one walk. He began Carleton's trip to Southern California with a 1-2-3 inning - including two strikeouts - on 3/18 at Caltech, on what would normally have been a bullpen day for the right-hander. Lord followed that up with a spectacular outing at No. 21-ranked Chapman on Sunday, tossing 7.0 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts as he yielded only two singles and a walk. He left the game with Carleton leading 1-0 in an eventual 3-1 loss.
