BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for football, volleyball, and soccer on Monday. Student-athletes from Augsburg, Bethel, Concordia, and St. Olaf claimed the Conference's weekly honors for September 9-15, 2019.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the fall season, team sports (football, soccer, and volleyball) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (cross country and golf) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

Khayleb Willis carried the ball 32 times for a career-high 257 yards and a pair of touchdowns for St. Olaf in a 33-20 victory at Luther to move the Oles to 2-0 on the season. The senior had nine runs of 10 yards or more on his way to the most rushing yards in a game by an Ole since Leon Clark's 261 on Nov. 14, 2009. Willis leads NCAA Division III in rushing yards this season with 351 and his 257 yards on Saturday are the second-highest single-game total in D-III this year.
Cale Ferrin led the Bethel defense with five solo tackles, along with one assist, and an interception in a 38-20 road victory over Wis.-River Falls. The senior defensive back picked off a Falcon pass on third down midway through the fourth quarter to help put the game out of reach.
Bjorn Charles was a perfect 5-for-5 on extra-point tries, improving to 11-for-11 on the season, and connected on the first field goal of his college career when he drilled a clutch 35-yarder as time expired in the second quarter to cut the Royals' deficit in half. Four of Charles' five PAT conversions came in the second half of Bethel's 38-20 win at Wis.-River Falls.
Katelyn Lannom was named to the Bethel Invitational All-Tournament Team after averaging 3.24 kills per set and hitting .402 for St. Olaf, which won all three of its matches at the tournament as part of a 4-0 week. The sophomore had double-digit kills in all four matches and also recorded 11 aces and nine blocks. Lannom matched her career-high with 19 kills and had a career-high six aces in a four-set win against St. Norbert on Saturday before adding 13 kills in a five-set win against AVCA Top 25 vote-getter Wis.-Stevens Point later in the day.
Lexi Wall was named to the Bethel Invitational All-Tournament Team after totaling 185 assists and 42 digs during a 4-0 week for St. Olaf. The junior closed out the weekend with 52 assists and 10 digs in both Saturday matches, including a four-set win over St. Norbert and a five-set victory against Wis.-Stevens Point. Wall posted 47 assists and nine digs in a five-set triumph over previously-undefeated Wis.-Stout the day before. Currently ranked third in the nation for assists per set this season at 11.58, Wall also contributed eight kills, six aces, and six blocks during the week.
Henry Schaefer had two assists in a 3-0 home win over Buena Vista on Saturday, leading the Concordia defense to another shutout while limiting its opponent to only one total shot. The Cobbers now have three shutouts on the year, with only one goal allowed and a total of 10 shots against in four games.
Ashley St. Aubin scored two goals and assisted on a third, extending her goal-scoring streak to seven straight games as Augsburg claimed a 4-2 victory over No. 19-ranked Loras on Sunday. The Auggies scored all their goals in the opening half-hour of play, blitzing the Duhawks to a 4-0 advantage. The two-goal effort marks St. Aubin's 14th career multi-goal game, with Augsburg winning all 14 contests. St. Aubin has scored at least one goal in 44 games in her career, and the Auggies are now 40-3-1 when she scores a goal.
