BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Heading into the final weekend of play before the holidays, St. Olaf has moved into the driver’s seat in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) men’s hockey standings with a 4-2-0 conference record and 13 points in the league standings.

POLL TALK
Augsburg is ranked No. 4 in the most recent USCHO Division III Top 15 Poll, released on Monday, December 5. St. Olaf received 28 points in the balloting while Bethel received three.
The Auggies rank sixth in the latest Pairwise rankings, while St. Olaf is No. 12 and Bethel is No. 15.
NATIONAL NOTABLES
Bethel senior forward Jarrett Cammarata (Maple Grove, Minn.) scored four goals against Finlandia on 10/28/22, tied for the most in any NCAA Division III game this season.
Bethel first-year goaltender Austin Ryman (Fairbanks, Alaska | Wenatchee) ranks fifth in NCAA Division III this season for goals against average at 1.17. Ryman’s save percentage of 0.960 ranks fifth in the nation as well, while his two shutouts are tied for the third-most in the country. Ryman logged 51 saves against Lake Forest on 11/26/22, tied for the eighth-most in any D-III game this season.
Saint John’s junior forward Nick Michel (Waconia, Minn.) ranks fifth in NCAA Division III with an average of 0.90 goals per game this season. Michel has five power-play goals this season, tied for the most in D-III.
St. Olaf sophomore forward Troy Bowditch (Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada) ranks sixth in NCAA Division III this season with an average of 1.09 assists per game.
St. Olaf junior goaltender Lukas Haugen (Minnetonka, Minn.) ranks eighth in NCAA Division III this season with a winning percentage of .900.
St. Scholastica junior forward Arkhip Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus) and junior defender Danylo Sukhonos (Kharkiv, Ukraine | Brovary Professional Lyceum) are tied for seventh in NCAA Division III this season with an average of 1.00 assists per game. Ledenkov also ranks tenth in the nation in points per game at 1.50.
AROUND THE MIAC
Augsburg senior forward Jarod Blackowiak (Eden Prairie, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal 2:25 into overtime, capping his first collegiate hat trick, in the Auggies’ 6-5 win over St. Olaf on 12/2. Blackowiak had not scored a goal yet this season coming into the contest.
Bethel first-year goaltender Austin Ryman (Fairbanks, Alaska | Wenatchee) tallied 35 saves in a 2-1 win over Saint John’s on 12/2. Ryman has only allowed one goal over his last three starts.
Concordia junior goaltender Aaron Dickstein (Dayton, Ohio | Miami Valley) made 24 saves and came within 13 seconds of a shutout in the Cobbers' 2-1 series-clinching win over Hamline on 12/2. Dickstein has collected at least 24 saves in all three of his starts this season.
Gustavus sophomore forward Jac Triemert (Woodbury, Minn.) scored two of the Gusties’ three goals in a 4-3 loss to Saint Mary’s on 12/3.
Hamline junior forward Bailey Sommers (Redwood Falls, Minn.) tallied two points in the Pipers’ series with Concordia last weekend. Sommers had a goal against the Cobbers on 12/2 and added an assist on 12/3.
Saint John’s junior forward Nick Michel (Waconia, Minn.) had two of the team’s four goals in a 4-1 victory over Bethel on 12/1. His power-play goal at the 8:35 mark in the first period was credited as the game-winner.
Saint Mary's senior defender Kellen Tharaldson (Wausau, Wis.) recorded his first two-goal game as a Cardinal on 12/3, scoring twice in SMU’s 4-3 win over Gustavus. Tharaldson has tallied four points over his last three games.
St. Olaf sophomore forward Jonathan Young (Pelham, N.H.) scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in the third period to lead the Oles to a 4-3 victory over No. 2-ranked Augsburg on 12/3. With the Auggies leading 3-2, the sophomore tied the game at 9:38 in the third before netting the game-winner at the 14:51 mark.
St. Scholastica junior forward Filimon Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus) scored three goals and added an assist in a 5-2 victory over Saint John’s on 11/18. He also contributed on both goals in a 2-2 tie the following day, scoring one and assisting on the other.
