BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for indoor track & field Tuesday. Student-athletes from Bethel, Gustavus, Macalester, and Saint John's claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the winter season, team sports (basketball, hockey) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming & diving, indoor track & field) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Kevin Arthur broke two program records as the Johnnies finished second out of 10 teams at Minnesota State's Maverick Invitational on 2/16. Arthur won the 60-meter dash in a program-record 6.78 seconds, which edged his own record of 6.79 seconds that he collected at the Gopher Classic on 2/3. Two hours later, Arthur won the 200-meter dash with a record time of 22.08 seconds. The previous SJU record was 22.19 set in 2019. Arthur is currently tied for fourth in NCAA Division III in the 60-meter dash and 19th in the 200-meter dash.

Evan Larsen won the weight throw with a personal best toss of 17.11 meters (56' 1.75") at the Royals' Gene Glader Classic on 2/17. The throw ranks 48th in NCAA Division III and leads the MIAC this season.
MIAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Diarra Chatham won the 60-meter dash at the Tostrud Classic on 2/17. Chatham had the top time coming out of prelims at 7.92. She then improved on that with a 7.75 in finals to win the event. That time is tied for 24th-fastest in NCAA Division III this season.

Megan Geraets won the long jump with a distance of 5.65 meters (18' 6.5") at the Maverick Invitational on 2/16. The distance is a college best for Geraets, who now ranks ninth on the NCAA Division III performance list this season.
