MIAC Athletes of the Week - October 14, 2025

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for cross country and swimming & diving on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Augsburg, Gustavus, Saint Benedict, and Saint John's claimed the Conference's weekly honors.

The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the fall season, team sports (football, soccer, and volleyball) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (cross country and golf) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Mohammed Bati
Augsburg University

Mohammed Bati claimed a 35.5-second victory at the four-kilometer Kent Finanger Invitational on 10/11. Bati took home top honors for the 17th time in his collegiate career by crossing the finish line in 11:51.4.

MIAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Addison Enfield led the Gusties to a team victory at the Finanger Invitational on 10/11 by placing second overall in a field of 79 runners with a time of 15:10.0 on the four-kilometer course. Her time is the fourth-fastest at the 4K distance in the MIAC this season.


MIAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week
Aiden Carlson

Moorhead, Minn. / Moorhead

Aiden Carlson earned an individual win and was part of a victorious relay team in addition to two more runner-up results in the Gusties' dual victory over Luther to open the 2025-26 season. Carlson won the 100 (53.23) butterfly competition and swam on the 200 medley team that won in 1:35.94. He also placed second in the 50 butterfly (23.71) and 100 breaststroke (1:00.08).

MIAC Men's Diving Athlete of the Week

Cody Watts registered the top 11-dive scores off both the 1- and 3-meter boards at the Hamline Diving Invite on 10/11. Watts scored 335.05 in the 1-meter competition and 302.25 in the 3-meter.


MIAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week
Haley Zelen
College of Saint Benedict

Haley Zelen won four of five events and set new program marks in the 100 fly and 100 IM to finish atop the individual leaderboard at the St. Kate's Pentathlon on 10/11. Zelen's time of 57.09 in the 100 butterfly surpassed the previous program record by more than two seconds, while her 100 individual medley time of 59.76 made her the first Bennie in history to finish the event in less than 60 seconds. Zelen also won the 100 breaststroke (1:08.56) and 100 freestyle (53.19), and finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:00.63).

Gabriella Stoudt placed second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions in the Gusties' dual victory over Luther on 10/11. Stoudt scored 210.30 off the 1-meter board and 190.35 off the 3-meter board.
