BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The college football season has reached the mid-point for Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) teams. Five more conference contests are scheduled for Saturday.
Bethel (5-0, 4-0) and Carleton (4-1, 4-0) will both host Homecoming games on October 18, with the Royals welcoming St. Olaf (2-3, 1-3) to Arden Hills and the Knights taking on Hamline (1-4, 0-4) in Northfield.
A pair of one-loss teams will meet in Moorhead when Concordia (4-1, 3-1) hosts Saint John's (4-1, 3-1), while Gustavus (1-4, 1-3) and St. Scholastica (2-3, 1-3) will each be looking for their second conference victories of the year, and Augsburg (2-3, 2-2) and Macalester (2-3, 1-3) will attempt to earn their third win of the season overall.
All games are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. kickoffs on Saturday.

IN THE POLLS
Bethel and Saint John's are both ranked among the top 10 in the latest D3football.com Top 25 Poll, released on October 12. The Royals moved up one spot to No. 6 this week, while the Johnnies are up to No. 10. The two teams are ranked seventh and eleventh, respectively, in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25 Poll this week.
The first NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings of the season were posted on Monday, October 13. Bethel is the top MIAC program on the list at No. 11, while Saint John's is No. 29, and Carleton is No. 40. The NPI will be used to select the 13 at-large bids to the 40-team NCAA Division III Playoffs after the 27 automatic qualifiers have been determined on November 15.
The next D3football.com Poll is slated to be released on Sunday, October 19, while the AFCA Poll and NPI rankings are expected on Monday, October 20.
NATIONAL NOTABLES
Saint John's senior tight end Joey Gendreau (Shorewood, Minn. / Minnetonka) was named to D3football.com's Team of the Week for their performances in Week 6 of the 2025 season. Gendreau became the fifth Johnnie in program history to catch four touchdown passes or more in a game with four (21, 62, 7, and 4 yards), to go along with 115 yards, on six catches in the first half of SJU's win over Macalester on 10/11.
Bethel junior wide receiver Tyler Terry (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) caught 15 passes against Northwestern-St. Paul on 9/13, tied for the most in any NCAA Division III game this season.
Bethel junior defensive end Phil Conant (Saint Francis, Minn. / Saint Francis) is averaging 2.60 tackles for loss per game, the third-highest average in Division III. Conant's 4.0 sacks against Hamline on 9/27 are tied for the third-most in a single game by any Division III player this season, while his 7.0 tackles for loss in the game are tied for the most by a defender at any level of NCAA Football this season.
Bethel senior cornerback Devin Williams (Fridley, Minn. / Fridley) is averaging 17.7 yards per punt return in 2025, the fifth-highest average in NCAA Division III.
Bethel sophomore kicker Zach Bengtson (Becker, Minn. / Becker) is one of ten Division III kickers with a perfect field goal percentage (6-for-6) in 2025.
Bethel junior punter Eli Nowacki (Blaine, Minn. / Centennial) uncorked an 80-yard kick against Hamline on 9/27, tied for the fourth-longest punt at any level of NCAA Football this year. Nowacki's average of 57.3 yards per punt (3-172) against the Pipers is the best average by a Division III punter in a single game this season.
Carleton senior quarterback Jack Curtis (Charlotte, N.C. / Ardrey Kell) has completed 73.4 percent of his throws this season (160-for-218), the fifth-best completion percentage in Division III. Curtis is averaging 32.0 completions per game, which is the second-highest average in D-III. Curtis has thrown for 1,792 yards in 2025, sixth-most in Division III, while his average of 358.4 passing yards per game ranks third in the country. His 371.8 yards of total offense per game rank fifth in D-III. Curtis completed 38 passes against both Gustavus (10/4) and St. Scholastica (10/11), tied for the second-most completions in any Division III game this season. Curtis passed for six touchdowns against Macalester on 9/20, tied for the fourth-most in any D-III game this season.
Carleton senior wide receiver Tyler Dimond (North Grafton, Mass. / Grafton) ranks tenth in D-III with an average of 165.4 all-purpose yards per game this season. Dimond is seventh in Division III with 635 receiving yards this year, and sixth in receiving yards per game with an average of 127.0.
Gustavus senior punter Owen Forsythe (Shakopee, Minn. / Shakopee) punted 11 times against Bethel on 9/20, tied for the fourth-most in any D-III game this season.
Hamline junior cornerback Chris Kujawa (Cottage Grove, Minn. / Park) has a pair of fumble recoveries this season, tied for the sixth-most in NCAA Division III.
Hamline sophomore cornerback Isaiah Watson (Fridley, Minn. / Fridley) broke up four passes against Concordia on 10/11, tied for the tenth-most in any D-III game this season.
Saint John's junior quarterback Trey Feeney (Moorhead, Minn. / Moorhead) has the second-best completion percentage in Division III this season at 79.6 percent (74-for-93). His passing efficiency rating of 201.7 ranks third in D-III this year. He is averaging 10.99 yards per attempt this season, the fifth-best average in Division III.
Saint John's senior tight end Joey Gendreau (Shorewood, Minn. / Minnetonka) caught four touchdown passes against Macalester on 10/11, tied for the second-most in any college football game this season. Gendreau leads all NCAA tight ends in receiving yards (587), receiving yards per game (117.4), receiving touchdowns (7), and receptions per game (7.40) this season.
St. Olaf senior cornerback Tony Avila-Tovalin (St. Paul, Minn. / Minnehaha Academy) has a pair of fumble recoveries this season, tied for the sixth-most in NCAA Division III.
St. Olaf sophomore kicker Ethan Hess (Marshall, Minn. / Marshall) is averaging 1.6 field goals per game this season, tied for the fourth-highest average in Division III.
St. Scholastica sophomore running back Jevon Williams (Willmar, Minn. / Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City) is averaging 182.0 all-purpose yards per game this season, the sixth-most in NCAA Division III. His 134.2 rushing yards per game rank ninth in NCAA Division III this season. Williams' 322 all-purpose yards against Wisconsin Lutheran on 9/6 are tied for the sixth-most in any D-III game this season, while his four rushing scores in the game are tied for the second-most in any NCAA Football game this year.
St. Scholastica senior linebacker Austin Mundt (Deer River, Minn. / Deer River) is averaging 7.2 solo tackles per game this season, the third-best clip in Division III. He recorded 13 solo tackles against Wisconsin Lutheran on 9/6, tied for the second-most by any defender in a Division III game this season.
St. Scholastica senior cornerback Ian Strusz (Albertville, Minn. / St. Michael-Albertville) came away with three interceptions against Wisconsin Lutheran on 9/6, tied for the most in any NCAA Football game this season.
St. Scholastica senior punter Jacob Andrews (Owatonna, Minn. / Medford) averaged 53.5 yards per punt (2-107) against Wisconsin Lutheran on 9/6, tied for the tenth-best single-game average in D-III this season.
AROUND THE MIAC
Augsburg senior wide receiver Tyrone Wilson (Ellendale, Minn. / ) caught seven passes for 117 yards and the Auggies' lone touchdown in a loss to Bethel on 10/11. Wilson has totaled at least 90 receiving yards and a touchdown in three of his last four games.
Bethel junior wide receiver Albert Rundell (Watertown, Minn. / Watertown-Mayer) caught touchdown passes from 15 and 12 yards out in the Royals' 56-7 victory over Augsburg on 10/11. Rundell has had at least one reception of 40 yards or more in three of his last four games.
Carleton senior quarterback Jack Curtis (Charlotte, N.C. / Ardrey Kell) completed 38-of-47 passes for 338 yards and a score in the Knights' 41-14 victory at St. Scholastica on 10/11. Curtis found seven different receivers in the game, with four of them finishing with at least seven receptions and 70 yards. It was the fourth consecutive game in which Curtis threw for at least 330 yards.
Concordia sophomore running back Mason Hughes (Glendale, Ariz. / Pinnacle) rushed for a career-high 132 yards and two touchdowns in the Cobbers' win at Hamline on 10/11. Hughes was one of three Cobbers with at least 90 rushing yards in the game, as Concordia racked up 415 yards on the ground - the program's highest single-game rushing total since 2019.
Gustavus junior cornerback Chance Swansson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn. / Rosemount) got the Gusties on the board with a 40-yard pick-six in the first quarter of the team's victory over St. Olaf on 10/11. Swansson jumped an Ole pass to the flat and took it to the house for the first defensive touchdown of his collegiate career and his second interception in as many games. Swansson added four solo tackles and returned three punts for 33 yards in the win.
Hamline first-year wide receiver Drevonnte Dunkins (St. Paul, Minn. / Central) made the most of his first collegiate reception, hauling in a 25-yard touchdown pass in the back corner of the end zone late in the fourth quarter of the Pipers' loss to Concordia on 10/11.
Macalester senior defensive end Tommy McKissick (Denver, Colo. / Kent Denver School) registered a sack and a forced fumble in the Scots' loss to Saint John's on 10/11. It was his second straight game with a solo sack.
Saint John's senior tight end Joey Gendreau (Shorewood, Minn. / Minnetonka) scored touchdowns on four of his six catches - all in the first half - in the Johnnies' rout of Macalester on 10/11. Gendreau finished with 115 receiving yards in the win for his fourth 100-yard game of the season.
St. Olaf sophomore kicker Ethan Hess (Marshall, Minn. / Marshall) connected on field goals of 44 and 39 yards in the Oles' loss to Gustavus on 10/11. The 44-yarder in the final minute of the first quarter is a career-long for Hess, and the longest field goal by an Ole since 2013.
St. Scholastica junior wide receiver Curtis Favors (St. Paul, Minn. / Tartan) accounted for both of the Saints' touchdowns in a 41-14 loss to Carleton on 10/11. Favors caught four balls for 103 yards and two scores, including a 43-yard pitch-and-catch on the team's first possession of the game, and a 21-yard scoring strike just before halftime. Favors has scored all four of his receiving touchdowns this season on explosive plays of 20 yards or more, with two coming on receptions of 75 yards or longer.
