MIAC announces 2025 Women's Soccer Awards

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its annual women's soccer awards on Tuesday.

Conference coaches selected Augsburg senior forward Jayla Ponce as the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, while St. Olaf senior defender Katie Beaudry earned MIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. St. Catherine first-year midfielder Ceci Emery was named MIAC Rookie of the Year, and her head coach Jesse Campos was celebrated by his peers as the MIAC Coach of the Year.

Ponce (Sr. / Kuna, Idaho / Kuna) was selected the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year for women's soccer after leading the conference with 10 goals and 22 points in league play. Ponce found the back of the net against seven different MIAC opponents in 2025 and was credited with the game-winning goal in six of those contests. She factored into multiple goals in four conference games as well. Ponce is the third Auggie in program history to be named MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, joining inaugural recipient Marie Fitzgerald (2015) and Ashley St. Aubin (2017).

Beaudry (Sr. / Castle Pines, Colo. / Rock Canyon) earned MIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors after leading a unit that allowed just four goals in league play and established a program-record shutout streak of 899 minutes and 53 seconds that spanned across all eight of the Oles' conference wins. Beaudry started every conference game at center back for the Oles, helping St. Olaf hold opponents to a league-low 15 shots on goal for the season. She is the first St. Olaf women's soccer player to be named MIAC Defensive Player of the Year since the award was established in 2015.

Emery (Fy. / Mahtomedi, Minn. / Mahtomedi) was selected as the MIAC Rookie of the Year recipient. Emery started every game at outside back for the Wildcats and played at least 80 minutes in eight of the eleven conference contests. She contributed two assists on the offensive end of the field and played a critical role in helping St. Catherine hold conference opponents to just three goals all season with eight MIAC shutouts. Emery is the third player in program history to be named MIAC Rookie of the Year, joining 2019 recipient Amanda Elton and 2024 recipient Jaidyn Richter.

Campos (9th season) was recognized by his peers as MIAC Coach of the Year after leading the Wildcats to a program-best 10-1-0 record in conference play and an outright regular season championship. Campos celebrated another milestone in September with his 100th win at St. Kate's, further cementing his status as the most successful head coach in program history. This is the third time in nine seasons that Campos has been recognized by his conference colleagues as the MIAC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year, with his previous honors coming in 2017 and 2021.

In addition to the individual awards, 22 players were named All-Conference, and eleven received honorable mention distinction. All-Conference and individual awards were nominated by and voted on by the 12 MIAC head women's soccer coaches; any nominated player not selected as All-Conference but still receiving votes from at least three coaches was named honorable mention.

Twelve of the 22 All-Conference selections were also selected in 2024. Augsburg senior forward Jayla Ponce and St. Olaf senior midfielder Cat Duffy-Shaw became four-time All-MIAC honorees, a feat achieved by just 22 women's soccer players in recorded conference history. Carleton senior midfielder Kathryn Kresse, Gustavus senior midfielder Cambelle Waldspurger, and St. Olaf junior forward Emily Johnson are now among the 67 players in recorded MIAC history to earn three All-Conference honors in women's soccer.

The MIAC also announced the All-Playoff Team for women's soccer, which recognized the top eleven performers from the conference tournament as selected by playoff-participant head coaches. Of the eleven selections, only Carleton junior defender Zaraya Jordan, St. Catherine senior forward Briana Henaman, and St. Olaf senior defender Katie Beaudry had been previous All-Playoff Team honorees.
