For the third time in four seasons, the Wildcats and Knights will now square off in the MIAC Women's Soccer Playoff Championship. St. Catherine will host at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in St. Paul.

NO. 1 ST. CATHERINE 2, NO. 4 AUGSBURG 1 | Box Score |
No. 1 St. Catherine is championship-bound for the fifth consecutive postseason after defeating No. 4 Augsburg, 2-1, in St. Paul on Thursday afternoon. The Wildcats scored less than nine minutes into the game when Bella Meier notched her tenth goal of the year at 8:38. The 1-0 tally held until Natalie Pfleger recorded what turned out to be the game-deciding goal at 50:55. Five minutes after Pfleger's goal, Allison Hookom snuck one past St. Kate's goalkeeper Brianna Valdez to cut the SCU lead in half. The Auggies dialed up the pressure in the second half, recording four of the team's five shots in the final 45 minutes; however, the Wildcats' defense refused to allow another goal, securing SCU an unprecedented fifth straight title game appearance.

St. Catherine now joins Concordia as the only programs in MIAC women's soccer history to reach the playoff championship game in five consecutive seasons. The Cobbers played in five consecutive title games from 2004-08, winning the MIAC playoff championship in 2006 and 2007. St. Kate's is championship-bound for the sixth time in program history and is a perfect 5-0 in those contests, with three regulation victories, one overtime win - against Carleton in 2022 - and one walk-off in double-overtime for the team's first-ever championship in 2017.

NO. 2 CARLETON 1, NO. 3 ST. OLAF 0 (OT) | Box Score |
Lola Feurer's rebound into the net with just over 30 seconds remaining in the first overtime period sent No. 2 Carleton to the MIAC Women's Soccer Playoff Championship for the third time in four seasons with a 1-0 victory over No. 3 St. Olaf on Thursday. The two squads had remained scoreless for nearly 100 minutes of action before the Knights received a corner kick, and Feurer was able to sneak a rebounded shot past St. Olaf first-year goalkeeper Charlotte Percy for the game-winning goal. Percy made four saves for the Oles in the second postseason start of her collegiate career. The Carleton defense held St. Olaf to just nine total shots in the contest, limiting the high-powered Ole offense to single-digits for just the second time all season. Carleton senior goalkeeper Avery Trapp stopped both shots on goal that she saw in the game.

Carleton is now championship-bound for the third time in four seasons and the seventh time in program history. The Knights have experienced the full spectrum of playoff emotions in the program's previous title game appearances, earning a 2-2-2 record in playoff championships since 2006. In addition to winning back-to-back playoff crowns in 2008 and 2009, the Knights fell on penalty kicks in 2006 and 2010, and suffered an overtime defeat to St. Catherine - in 2022. The only regulation loss on the Knights' championship resume came in the form of a 1-0 loss, also to the Wildcats, in 2023.

CHAMPIONSHIP SET FOR SATURDAY
No. 1 St. Catherine and No. 2 Carleton will now meet on Saturday, November 8, in the 2025 MIAC Women's Soccer Playoff championship game. This is the third time in the last four seasons that the Wildcats and Knights will meet with the MIAC playoff championship and automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament on the line. Carleton hosted both previous championship matchups, and both were won by the Wildcats by 1-0 margins - in overtime in 2022, and in regulation in 2023. The Knights handed the Wildcats their only MIAC loss of the 2025 regular season with a 1-0 win in St. Paul on 10/4.

The 2025 championship game is tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on the Wildcats' home turf in St. Paul. The MIAC Playoff Champion will receive the postseason championship trophy and the conference's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.
