Bracket set for 2025 MIAC Volleyball Playoffs

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The bracket is set for the 2025 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Volleyball Playoffs.

For the first time in 15 years, the conference tournament will run through Northfield. St. Olaf secured the MIAC regular season title for the sixth time in program history and the first time since 2010 with an undefeated 11-0 record in league play this fall.

The No. 1-seeded Oles will have a bye to the semifinal round, as will No. 2 Gustavus. The Gusties went 9-2 in conference action to secure the program's fifth-straight first-round bye. The Gusties have now amassed a 52-3 record in regular-season MIAC contests since 2021.

QUARTERFINALS BEGIN ON TUESDAY
The quarterfinal round of the MIAC Volleyball Playoffs will get underway on Tuesday, November 11, with a pair of 7:00 p.m. matches.

Defending MIAC Playoff champion Saint Benedict (9-2) will be the No. 3 seed and is slated to host No. 6 Augsburg (5-6) in a rematch of last season's quarterfinal match that was decided, 16-14, in the fifth set. The Bennies defeated the Auggies on the road in four sets on 10/22.

On the other side of the bracket, No. 4 Bethel (7-4) will host No. 5 St. Catherine (6-5). The seeding for this matchup was determined on Friday night when the Royals swept the Wildcats in the regular season finale. The teams will return to the Robertson Center Gymnasium on Tuesday for a rematch in the quarterfinals.

SEMIFINALS SET FOR THURSDAY
The MIAC Volleyball Playoff bracket will not re-seed following the quarterfinals, which means the top-seeded Oles will play either the No. 4 Royals or No. 5 Wildcats in the semifinals, while the Gusties will host either No. 3 Saint Benedict or No. 6 Augsburg. Both semifinal matches will be played on the home courts of the top two seeds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13.

CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY
Thursday's two semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, November 15, in the 2025 MIAC Volleyball Playoff championship match. The match is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on the home court of the highest remaining seed. The MIAC Playoff champion will receive the playoff championship trophy and the Conference's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament.

NPI OUTLOOK
The NCAA Power Index (NPI) is used to select the 21 at-large bids for the 64-team NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament after the 43 automatic qualifiers have been determined on November 15. The D3Playbook has projected the NPI cut line for volleyball at-large candidates to be at No. 43. The most recent NPI rankings on November 8 list Gustavus at No. 22 and St. Olaf at No. 27.

PLAYOFF ADMISSION
All tickets for the 2025 MIAC Playoffs will be sold and purchased online via HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at any venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device, including while at the venue. Tickets are available for purchase immediately. General admission adult tickets are $12 (plus HTT service charge). Student (with ID) tickets are $3 (plus HTT service charge), and children ages five and under are admitted free. As a reminder, artificial noisemakers are not permitted at any MIAC events.

PAY-PER-VIEW
The 2025 MIAC Volleyball Playoffs will be streamed live on the MIAC Sports Network in a pay-per-view format. Individual playoff contests will be streamed for $10 each, or $25 for a "championship pass" to stream the entire tournament live. On-demand access to playoff matches will be available after the NCAA Tournament concludes.
