Matchups set for MIAC Men’s Hockey Playoffs

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Hockey Playoffs are officially set, as the regular season came to a close on Saturday night.

After a regular-season title race that came down to the wire, Saint John's (10-3-3) will be the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. SJU took home its tenth MIAC men's hockey regular-season championship, and the program's since the 2019-20 campaign on Saturday. The Johnnies will have a bye to the semifinals, where they will host the winner of Wednesday night's quarterfinal contest between No. 4 Bethel and No. 5 St. Olaf. Game time for the semifinal contest is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud on Saturday.

No. 2 Gustavus (12-4-0) will host No. 3 Saint Mary's (10-5-1) in semifinal action on Saturday, February 28. The Gusties claimed five of six possible points in the squads' regular-season showdown in January. Game time for the semifinal contest is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The 2026 conference tournament will officially begin on Wednesday night, when No. 4 Bethel (9-7-0) hosts No. 5 St. Olaf (8-6-2) on the Royals' home ice in Blaine. This will be the fourth meeting of the season between the two programs; after tying, 1-1, in non-conference action in January, the teams split their conference series over the weekend. The Royals won in regulation in Northfield while the Oles took one in overtime in Blaine. Game time for the quarterfinal matchup is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, with the winner to face top-seeded Saint John's in the semifinals on Saturday.

The semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, March 7, in the 2026 MIAC Men's Hockey Playoff championship game. The MIAC Playoff champion will receive the postseason championship trophy, the Ed Saugestad Cup, and the Conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Tournament.

Tickets for the quarterfinal game will go on sale Saturday night. Tickets for the semifinals will go on sale after the quarterfinals are complete on Wednesday night. All tickets will be sold and purchased online via HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at any venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device, including while at the venue. Playoff tickets will go on sale after the regular season has concluded. General admission adult tickets are $12 (plus HTT service charge). Student (with ID) tickets are $3 (plus HTT service charge), and children ages five and under are admitted free.

The 2026 MIAC Men's Hockey Playoffs will be streamed live on the MIAC Sports Network in a pay-per-view format. Individual playoff contests will be streamed for $10 each, or $25 for a "championship pass" to stream the entire tournament live. On-demand access to playoff games will be available after the NCAA Tournament concludes.
