BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for baseball, softball, and tennis on Monday. Student-athletes from Bethel, Carleton, Concordia, Hamline, Macalester, and Saint Benedict claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the spring season, team sports (baseball, softball, and tennis) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (outdoor track & field and golf) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Baseball Player of the Week

John McMurray batted .667 (8-for-12) with a double, a home run, five runs scored, and five runs batted in against Mary Hardin-Baylor in a three-game series. After hitting a double and scoring two runs in a 7-4 victory on 2/27, McMurray went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBI to lead the Scots to a 14-10 victory in the first game of a doubleheader on 2/28. McMurray followed that up with a 3-for-3 performance that included a solo home run, his first as a collegian, in a 17-7 loss in Game 2.

Brayden Wolfgram pitched 6.0 scoreless innings in the Cobbers' season-opening win over Dubuque on 2/28. Wolfgram allowed two hits and struck out seven in his lone outing. Wolfgram did not allow a runner to get past second base in the game and retired 10 of the last 11 batters he faced.

Olivia Tautges recorded six hits in seven at-bats to lead the Bennies to a split at UW-Eau Claire on 2/28. In a 12-0, run-rule shortened series opener, Tautges went 4-for-4 at the plate and recorded the 20th home run of her collegiate career. She went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, and one RBI in the series finale.

Sydney Trentman did not allow an earned run in a program-record 14.0 innings of work to earn a win for the Knights against UW-Stout on 2/28. Trentman struck out eight and scattered nine hits - all singles - in the 8-6, extra-inning win.
MIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Wyatt Crowell earned wins at the top singles and doubles positions to lead the Pipers to a 5-2 win over Saint John's on 2/27. Crowell won 6-3 at No. 1 doubles before collecting a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.

Lauryn Douglas recorded a pair of wins in singles and doubles action in a 2-0 weekend for the Royals. After winning 6-1 at No. 1 doubles and 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles in Bethel's 7-0 victory over Saint Mary's on 2/27, Douglas won a 6-3 decision at top doubles and battled to a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (13-11) win at No. 1 singles to secure a 4-3 team win over previously unbeaten UW-La Crosse on 3/1.
