BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Tennis Playoffs continued on Thursday with a pair of semifinal matches. No. 1 Gustavus prevailed over No. 4 St. Catherine, 4-0, while No. 2 Carleton defeated No. 3 Bethel, 4-1. The Gusties and Knights will now meet in the MIAC Playoff Championship match on Saturday.

Gustavus is back in the title match for the sixth straight season following a 4-0 win over St. Catherine on Thursday. After clinching the doubles point with victories at the second and third positions, the Gusties got singles wins at Nos. 1, 3, and 6. Molly Austin secured the match victory with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 singles.

The Knights are championship match-bound for the fifth consecutive postseason after topping Bethel by a 4-1 margin on Thursday afternoon in Northfield. The Knights took two of three doubles matches and the fourth, fifth, and sixth singles bouts to seal the semifinal win. Peggy Fu's 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles clinched the team victory. Lauryn Douglas earned the Royals' point with a 6-1, 6-4 win at the top singles spot.
Gustavus and Carleton will now meet in the playoff championship for the eleventh time since 2007. The two programs have combined to win 16 of the 18 MIAC Women's Tennis Championships in playoff history. Gustavus has won nine playoff titles in program history - including last year's - while Carleton has earned seven postseason crowns. The Gusties hold a 6-5 advantage over the Knights in the MIAC Playoffs.
Match time for Saturday's Championship contest will be determined by the results of the MIAC Men's Tennis semifinal matches on Friday. If Gustavus hosts both the men's and women's championship matches, the women's match will be played at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the men's match at 3:30 p.m. If Gustavus only hosts the men's match, the 2026 MIAC Women's Tennis Playoff Championship will be played at 1:00 p.m. The winning team will receive the MIAC playoff championship plaque and the conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament.
