Leah Schubring named Bethel women's golf coach

ARDEN HILLS, Minn.—Leah Schubring has been named the next Bethel University head women's golf coach. 

"I'm thrilled that Leah has agreed to become the head coach of the Bethel women's golf program," said Bethel Director of Athletics Greg Peterson. " She brings a high level of playing, coaching background, and authentic heart to lead the women in our program not only in competition, but in their faith journey as well. He background in Minnesota golf brings instant credibility in recruiting as we seek to take the next step in the program."

Schubring (formerly Leah Herzog), comes to the Royals following two seasons as assistant women's golf coach at the University of Tulsa. She helped guide the Golden Hurricane women's golf program to the 2025-26 American Conference Championship, and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Regional. Prior to Tulsa, Schubring worked for Minnesota PGA. 

Schubring, a native of Red Wing, Minnesota, played collegiate golf at the University of Nebraska from 2019-2021, and the University of Minnesota from 2021-2023.

At Red Wing High School, Schubring was a 2018 and 2019 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Girl's Golf State Runner-Up. Schubring's senior year culminated in her being named 2019 Minnesota Ms. Golf. 

"I'm incredibly honored and excited to become the next head coach at Bethel," said Schubring. I cannot wait to get to work with this team, build meaningful relationships, and pursue high goals together. I'm motivated to continue building this program with energy, passion, and purpose."

Schubring graduated from the University of Minnesota in May 2023 with a degree in English.
