Gustavus to host Carleton in MIAC Men's Tennis Playoff Championship

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Tennis Playoffs continued on Friday with a pair of semifinal matches. For the ninth time in the last decade, the MIAC Men's Tennis Playoff finale will feature Gustavus hosting Carleton.

Gustavus will once again host the MIAC Men's Tennis Playoff Championship after defeating Bethel, 4-0, in Friday's first semifinal match. The Gusties picked up wins at second and third doubles before claiming singles victories at the Nos. 3, 4, and 6 spots. Tyler Haddorff won the match-clinching point with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 3 singles.

Carleton earned a 4-1 semifinal win over St. Scholastica on Friday afternoon in Northfield. The Knights earned the doubles point with wins at the first and third positions before picking up wins at first, third, and sixth singles. Zach Leslie clinched the match with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. Dane Patten collected a point for the Saints with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.
 
The Knights and Gusties will now match up in the MIAC Men's Tennis Playoff Championship for the 16th time since 2007. Carleton upset Gustavus to win the playoff title in 2010 - the Gusties' only loss to a conference foe since the 1986 campaign. Match time for Saturday's championship is set for 3:30 p.m. The Gusties and Knights will also clash for the MIAC Women's Tennis Playoff Championship earlier in the day; match time for the women's title is officially set for 11:30 a.m.
 
Official playoff apparel is available for online purchase via the MIAC Shop powered by UNRestricted MKTG. The online MIAC Shop features officially licensed short-sleeve t-shirts, long-sleeves, and hooded sweatshirts to commemorate the 2026 playoff tournament. Regular-season team champion gear is also available, with playoff team champion apparel set to be added shortly after the championship match.
