FARMINGTON, Minn. — For the fifth consecutive year, two of the 22 student-athletes across all divisions of college football named to the Allstate American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team® hail from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).

Bethel University senior offensive lineman Jaegar Ash and Saint John’s University senior wide receiver Sam Nolan were selected to the 35th annual Good Works Team for their extraordinary commitment to community service. The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® was established in 1992 to recognize a select group of college football players who have made a commitment to service and enriching the lives of others.

This year’s team was selected from 162 nominees and includes representatives from every level of college football. The class also includes the first female student-athlete selected in the program’s history, Northwestern College kicker Gianna Bennett. Beyond their accomplishments on the field, this year’s honorees contributed more than 12,000 hours of volunteer service, raised more than $100,000 for charitable causes, launched seven community initiatives and foundations, and used their NIL earnings to support causes they care about.

Ash (Milaca, Minn. / Milaca) has contributed more than 2,000 volunteer hours throughout his high school and collegiate career. A two-time All-MIAC offensive lineman, Ash has invested heavily in mentorship through Fellowship of Christian Athletes, youth Bible studies, sports camps, and church leadership roles. His service has taken him across the country and internationally, including mission trips to Guatemala, California, and Washington, where he supported underserved communities through construction projects, outreach, and mentorship.

Nolan (Lakeville, Minn. / Lakeville North) volunteers through prison ministry, teaches Catholic confirmation classes, participates in Special Olympics programming, and has completed multiple service trips focused on assisting those experiencing homelessness, poverty, and incarceration. A two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree, Nolan also plays an active role in fundraising efforts benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, cancer research initiatives, and military families through Folds of Honor.

Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® includes 11 players from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and 11 from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Divisions II, III, and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Five of the eleven non-FBS honorees play at the NCAA Division III level. Brigham Young University head coach Kalani Sitake was named the honorary head coach.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) leads all college athletic conferences with 94 selections to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® since it began in 1992. The SEC is followed by the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with 60 selections, and the MIAC with 47 selections.

The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will be invited to New Orleans to participate in a special community service project ahead of the 2027 Allstate Sugar Bowl, where the entire team will also be recognized on the field at halftime on Jan. 15.
