Saint Mary's earned the MIAC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals earned a trip to the College World Series. SMU topped Husson, 5-2, in the first game of the Tournament and added a win over Simpson, 3-1, in eight innings before splitting with the Storm, 2-3 and 10-2, to win their home regional. Saint Mary's then rallied back from a 5-3 loss to UW-Whitewater in the opening game of the Super Regional to win the elimination games, 4-0 and 7-1, and earn a trip to the College World Series. The Cardinals fell to Linfield (11-3) and Randolph-Macon (6-3) in the CWS.

Saint Mary's defeated DePauw, 7-3, before falling to Coe (6-3) and DePauw (16-8) in the regional bracket. Bethel lost to UW-Whitewater to open the Tournament before defeating UW-Superior (10-3), UW-Whitewater (3-1), and Central (9-6) in elimination games. The Royals fell to Central, 9-3, in the regional championship. Saint Benedict lost to UW-Oshkosh, 4-1, before defeating Wartburg (5-3) and Illinois Wesleyan (8-3) in elimination games. The Bennies were eliminated by UW-Oshkosh, 8-3, in the regional championship.

Bethel earned the MIAC's automatic qualifer to the NCAA Tournament while Saint Benedict received an at-large bid. Both institutions were selected as NCAA Regional hosts. Saint Benedict lost to Nebraska Wesleyan, 4-0, in the opening game of the tournament and bounced back with 8-0 victories over Illinois Wesleyan and Nebraska Wesleyan before falling to Wartburg, 6-5, in the regional final. Bethel defeated Bethany Lutheran, 5-1, in the Royals' first game. Bethel then lost to Washington-St. Louis, 2-1, and defeated Buena Vista, 3-2, to advance on to the regional championship series where the Royals outlasted Washington-St. Louis, 4-3 in 15 innings and then won 6-5 in the second game to advance on to Super Regionals. Berry defeated Bethel, 2-0 and 3-1, in the Super Regionals.

The regular-season MIAC champion Oles went 2-2 in the Tournament, defeating UW-Superior (11-3) and Coe (2-0), while losing to MSOE (3-1) and St. Thomas (3-0). The Tommies went 4-0 in the Waverly, Iowa Regional to advance to the College World Series. St. Thomas defeated Webster (5-1), Coe (8-1), MSOE (4-3), and St. Olaf (3-0) to move on to the championship round where the Toms lost to Virginia Wesleyan (3-0), defeated Rochester (2-1), and lost to DePauw (3-2).

The Wildcats then lost to Illinois Wesleyan (7-0) and Williams (6-5) in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Tommies topped Central (10-2) and Coe (3-0, 12-8) before falling to St. Catherine twice in the Super Regional.

After dropping a 7-1 decision to Augustana in the Coe Regional, the Tommies rallied for four straight wins against St. Scholastica (7-4), Coe (7-3), and Augustana (5-4, 10-7) to advance to the Super Regional in Naperville, Ill. UST got the better of North Central in a three-game series to move on to the World Series in Tyler, Tex. St. Thomas lost to Salisbury, 1-0, in the first game before defeating Rochester, 9-1, and Montclair State, 4-3. The Tommies' season came to an end the following day in a 3-2 loss to Salisbury.

Gustavus went undefeated in the Simpson Regional, defeating Central (11-4), Luther (5-3), and Webster (14-6, 11-1) to move on to the World Series in Montclair, N.J. The Gusties earned victories over Texas-Tyler (5-1), Salisbury (10-4), and Tufts (5-0) with losses to Messiah (2-0) and Coe (4-2).

Saint Mary's received an at-large bid to the Tournament, recording a pair of wins against Fontbonne and a victory against UW-Stout in Cedar Rapids before losing to Washington-St. Louis twice.
