Saint Benedict advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals following 3-2 wins over Northwestern and Stevens Point. The Bennies were swept by Johns Hopkins in the Elite 8.

St. Thomas defeated Cornell (3-2), UW-Eau Claire (3-0), and Saint Ben's (3-1) at its home regional before sweeping Clarkson in the quarterfinals and Elmhurst in the semifinals. St. Thomas defeated Calvin, 3-2-, to win the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball National Championship.
