Methodology Notes
Data for 1995–2025 is drawn from the official 2026 MIAC Softball Record Book, All-Conference Teams section. Data for 2026 is drawn from the official 2026 MIAC Softball All-Conference and Honorable Mention selection sheet. Honorees are selected by vote each season, not by finish place; there is no fixed cutoff for the number of honorees per year.
The 2020 season had no All-Conference awards due to the COVID-19 abbreviated conference season. Honorable Mention was published with name and school only (no position or class year) for 1995–1997; position and class year appear on Honorable Mention selections starting in 1998. No Honorable Mention was published at all for 1999–2007; it resumes continuously from 2008 onward.
Class year (Fy./So./Jr./Sr./Gr.) and position are published for every All-Conference selection across the full 1995–2026 span. One exception: the 2014 Honorable Mention entry for Mary-Clare Couillard (Hamline) prints a duplicate position abbreviation in place of a class year in the source; class year is left blank for that entry.
Name-spelling unifications made for multi-time honoree counting (each year’s individual entry retains the spelling as originally published): “Karen Paulsen” (1995 HM) unified with “Karen Paulson” (Hamline); “Jill Berthiaune” (1999) unified with “Jill Berthiaume” (Saint Mary’s); “Heide Mueller” (1999) unified with “Heidi Mueller” (Concordia); “Sarah Grudnowski” unified with “Sarah Grundnowski” (St. Thomas), matching the record book’s own three-time honoree list; “Dani Cattyse” (2011) unified with “Dani Catrysse” (Gustavus); “Alex Kanavati” unified with “Alexia Kanavati” (St. Olaf), a nickname inferred from matching class-year progression; “Kerika Kanavati” (1996 HM) unified with “Erika Kanavati” (St. Olaf), a likely typo inferred from matching class-year progression; “Jaclyn Huegel” (2000) unified with “Jackie Huegel” (Saint Mary’s), confirmed by the record book’s own four-time honoree list; “Sam Anderson” (2019) unified with “Samantha Anderson” (Augsburg); “Jamie Hillenbrand” (1997) unified with “Jami Hillenbrand” (Bethel); “July Graf” (2021, printed typo) unified with “Julie Graf” (St. Olaf); “Allie Fauth-Kilgore” (2023) unified with “Allie Fauth” (Bethel), matching the record book’s own five-time honoree list; “Cassic Clarke” (2015, printed typo) unified with “Cassie Clarke” (Carleton). “Michael Johnson” (IF, Carleton, 2009 AC / 2010 HM) is printed exactly that way in the source and is retained as published.
Multi-time honoree counts use All-Conference selections only; Honorable Mention seasons are not counted toward three-time, four-time, or five-time totals, consistent with the methodology used in the official MIAC record book. Two discrepancies were found between the record book’s own printed Multi-Time Honoree summary and the year-by-year All-Conference/Honorable Mention rosters it is compiled from, and are resolved here in favor of the year-by-year rosters: the record book lists Bethany Hine (Hamline) as a four-time honoree including 2010, but her 2010 selection is printed as Honorable Mention, not All-Conference, so she is counted here as a three-time honoree (2011–2013). The record book lists Tully Kaiser (Augsburg) as a three-time honoree for 1997, 1999, and 2000, but she does not appear in either list in 1999, and independent 1998 All-MIAC results (Augsburg Cobber sports archive) confirm she was First Team All-MIAC that year; she is counted here as a three-time honoree for 1997, 1998, and 2000.
St. Scholastica’s first All-Conference selections in these Softball records appear in 2022. St. Catherine University (formerly College of St. Catherine) appears in records throughout the archive under its various historical names.
