BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) men's hockey players have been selected to the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA)/CCM Hockey Divisions II-III All-America Teams this week, with Augsburg senior forward Alex Rodriguez earning a spot on the West Region First Team and Concordia forward Tyler Bossert and Augsburg defender John O'Connor landing on the West Region Second Team.
Rodriguez and O'Connor are the 37th and 38th All-Americans in Augsburg program history, while Bossert is the ninth all-time for Concordia. All three are first-time honorees.
Rodriguez (Miami, Fla. | Shattuck-St. Mary's) tallied a point in 21 of 26 games this season for the MIAC champion Auggies. He opened the year with back-to-back hat tricks and finished the season on a nine-game point streak. An All-MIAC selection for the first time in his career in 2019, Rodriguez registered 12 multi-point games and five multi-goal games as a senior.
Bossert (Fargo, N.D.) led the Cobbers in scoring with 11 goals and 28 assists on the year. His 28 assists were tied for fifth-most in all of NCAA Division III and sixth-most in school history, while his 39 total points are the most by a Cobber since Marc Terris' 46 in 1993. The All-MIAC sophomore logged a point in 21 of the team's 26 games and had at least two points in 11 of those contests.
O'Connor (Moorhead, Minn.) was the leading scorer among MIAC defenders this season, totaling 17 points and 15 assists on the year. He played a key role on the Auggies' power-play unit, helping Augsburg to a 26.6 percent conversion rate - fifth-best in Division III. The All-MIAC defender recorded a point in 12 of 27 games played as a junior, tallying multiple assists in four games.
