St. Thomas scored its first goal 39 seconds into the game and never looked back, defeating No. 3 Carleton by a margin of 3-0 on Wednesday. George Marty tallied his fourth goal of the year less than a minute into play, while Halvor Houg scored on a pair of penalty kicks in the 28th and 65th minutes to put the game out of reach. The St. Thomas defense played lights out, limiting Carleton to just one shot on goal against unbeaten goalkeeper Troy Louwagie (9-0-1). Carleton's Marco da Cunha had the Knights' lone shot on goal in the game, while goalkeeper Aaron Forman had three saves against six shots on goal in the loss. St. Thomas now heads to its fourth MIAC Playoff championship game appearance in the last five seasons and will await the results of tomorrow's semifinal contest between No. 1 Gustavus and No. 4 Saint John's.

Due to snowfall impacting field conditions, the MIAC Men's Soccer Playoff semifinal contest between No. 1 Gustavus and No. 4 Saint John's has been postponed to Thursday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. The regular season matchup between the Johnnies and Gusties went to double-overtime, where Gustavus pulled out a 3-2 victory. The two teams are an even 2-2 in postseason meetings, with the Gusties having won the most recent matchup, a 2-0 result in the 2014 MIAC Playoff Championship game.

St. Thomas and the winner of Thursday's semifinal will meet on Saturday, November 9, in the 2019 MIAC Men's Soccer Playoff championship game. The game is tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The MIAC Playoff Champion will receive the postseason championship plaque and the conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament.
