BU earns WBCA Academic Top 25 Team honor

Bethel University Sports Information Department

ATLANTA – The Bethel University's women's basketball program was honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) today in the 2018-19 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls release. The Royals ranked in a tie for the sixth best team GPA among all NCAA Division III women's basketball programs. It is the fourth consecutive season in which the Royals have led the MIAC and been named to the WBCA Top 25 Honor Roll.

With a program second-best cumulative GPA 3.659, the Royals have held a GPA of 3.2 or higher in each season under 17-year head coach Jon Herbrechtsmeyer.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2018-19 season is the 24th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls. Shenandoah, coached by Melissa Smeltzer-Kraft, took top honors in NCAA Division III with a 3.764 GPA.
