NO. 3 SAINT BENEDICT 3, NO. 6 BETHEL 0 | Box Score |
Saint Benedict is headed back to the MIAC semifinals for the third consecutive season after sweeping No. 6 Bethel, 3-0, at Claire Lynch Hall on Tuesday night. The Bennies won with scores of 25-19, 26-24, and 25-17. Hunter Weiss posted a match-high 15 kills and hit .417 in the victory, while CSB setter Katie Koch added 38 assists and a service ace. Bethel's Hannah Wilhite played well in the loss, logging a 19-assist, 13-kill double-double for the Royals. Saint Benedict will move on to face No. 2 St. Olaf in the semifinals. St. Olaf swept Saint Benedict in the teams' regular season matchup on October 12. The Oles have a 2-1 postseason advantage all-time over the Bennies, though the teams have not met in the MIAC Playoffs since CSB swept St. Olaf in the 2009 championship match. Thursday's match is set for 7:00 p.m. in Northfield.

NO. 4 AUGSBURG 3, NO. 5 GUSTAVUS 0 | Box Score |
Augsburg will make its fourth straight trip to the MIAC semifinals after defeating last year's playoff champion, Gustavus, in three sets at Si Melby Hall on Tuesday night. The Auggies won 25-23, 25-20, and 25-13 to advance in the conference tournament. Both Lexie Lang and Izzy Barr contributed 14 assists apiece for Augsburg in the win, while Kate Holtan paced the Gusties with a match-high 14 kills. Augsburg will move on to face regular season conference champion St. Thomas in the semifinals. The Tommies defeated Augsburg, 3-1, in the regular season finale last Saturday. The two teams have only met in the MIAC Playoffs once before, with St. Thomas sweeping Augsburg to claim the 2014 MIAC Playoff championship. Thursday's match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas.

The Bennies and Auggies used their quarterfinal wins to advance to Thursday's semifinals, where No. 1 St. Thomas and No. 2 St. Olaf are set to host. No. 2 St. Olaf will host No. 3 Saint Benedict and the No. 1 Tommies will host No. 4 Augsburg. Both matches are tentatively set for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The semifinal winners will advance to the Playoff Championship match, which will be played Saturday, November 9, at 7:00 p.m. on the home court of the top remaining seed. The MIAC Playoff champion will receive the postseason championship plaque and the conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament.
