BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for outdoor track & field and golf on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Carleton, Gustavus, St. Catherine, and St. Olaf claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the spring season, team sports (baseball, softball, and tennis) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (outdoor track & field and golf) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

Henry Bowman finished fifth out of 76 racers with a time of 30:40.45 in the 10,000-meter run at the Phil Esten Challenge on 4/21. His time is a new personal record and ranks 47th in NCAA Division III this season.

Joshua Beiswanger placed second in the men's hammer throw at Concordia-St. Paul's Holst Invitational on 4/22 with a toss of 55.28 meters (181' 4"). Beiswanger's throw was the best D-III distance at the meet and is the second-best in the MIAC this season to his own 55.96-meter toss (183' 7") a week earlier. Beiswanger's throw this week ranks 30th in NCAA Division III this season.

Hannah Preisser finished second in a 58-racer field for the 10,000-meter run at the Phil Esten Challenge on 4/21. Her time of 35:52.33 currently ranks No. 15 on this year's NCAA Division III performance list and is No. 5 on Carleton's all-time leaderboard.
MIAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

Madi Kes impressed at the Lee Krough Invitational over the weekend, winning the triple jump with a distance of 11.82 meters (38' 9.5"). Her jump set a new meet record, a new school record, represents the best MIAC distance in the event this season, and currently ranks 16th in NCAA Division III this year.

Josh Sansom topped the 115-golfer field at the Bobby Krig Invitational last weekend to become the Oles' first individual medalist since the 2018-19 season. Samson shot an even-par 141 to win the tournament by three strokes. The sophomore fired a second-round 67 (-3) - the lowest round by an Ole in at least 15 seasons - that included five birdies to move up from a tie for 10th after the first round.

Kyra Venne tallied her third win of the spring and fourth of the season by tying for medalist honors with teammate Katie Reeves at the Bethel University "Rumble at the Ridge" tournament last weekend. Venne carded an even-par 72 with 13 pars and two birdies to lead St. Kate's to a third straight team victory.
