LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced 1,333 teams as 2022-23 AVCA Team Academic Award recipients, including eleven from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).

Among the NCAA Division III teams honored were the MIAC's Bethel University, Carleton College, Concordia College, Gustavus Adolphus College, Hamline University, Macalester College, the College of Saint Benedict, St. Catherine University, Saint Mary's University, St. Olaf College, and the The College of St. Scholastica.

Bethel, Hamline, and Saint Benedict were also recognized on the Team Academic Honor Roll for representing the top 20 percent of Team GPAs in NCAA Division III.

The Team Academic Award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
