MIAC Athletes of the Week - October 28, 2025

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for swimming & diving on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Carleton and Macalester claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
 
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Transitioning into the winter season, team sports (football, soccer, and volleyball) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming & diving) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week
TJ Palli
Macalester College

TJ Palli returned to the competition pool for the first time in ten months and collected four first-place finishes in the Scots' 155-143 dual victory over Saint John's on 10/25. Palli registered individual wins in the 50-yard freestyle (21.96) and 100-yard freestyle (48.38), and helped Macalester to relay wins in the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.80) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:27.87).
 
MIAC Men's Diving Athlete of the Week
Hans Anderson
Carleton College

Watertown, Minn. / Watertown-Mayer
 
Hans Anderson scored 467.00 points on the 1-meter board and 447.7 for the 3-meter height at the Knights' season-opening Cows, Colleges, and Contentment Classic meet on 10/25. Both scores lead the MIAC this season.

MIAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week
Izzy Uhlhorn-Thornton

Izzy Uhlhorn-Thornton won two individual events and tallied a relay victory to help the Scots defeat Saint Benedict in a dual meet on 10/25. Uhlhorn-Thornton placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.75 and won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:28.47. Both times are the fastest in the MIAC this season. Uhlhorn-Thornton also swam on the Scots' 200-yard freestyle relay that won with a time of 1:41.56.

Nina Schwab established new Thorpe Pool records with her 11-dive scores on the 1-meter (464.85) and 3-meter (490.85) boards at the Knights' season-opening Cows, Colleges, and Contentment Classic meet on 10/25. Schwab topped the field in both competitions.
