MIAC Athletes of the Week - February 25, 2025

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for indoor track & field on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Bethel, Gustavus, St. Olaf, and St. Scholastica claimed the Conference's weekly honors.

The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Transitioning to the spring season, team sports (basketball, hockey, softball, and tennis) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (indoor track & field) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Grant Nelson
Bethel University

Grant Nelson won the 400 meters in 48.25 at the Snowshoe Open on 2/21. The time leads the MIAC and is fifth-fastest in NCAA Division III this season.

MIAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

Stanchfield, Minn. | Cambridge-Isanti

Trent Beseth set meet, facility, and program records in the shot put at the Tostrud Classic on 2/21 with a mark of 18.29 meters (60' 0.25"). The throw leads NCAA Division III this season and cleared the competition by more than three meters.


MIAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Isabel Wyatt
St. Olaf College

Isabel Wyatt ran the fifth-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season in the 800-meter run at the Snowshoe Open on 2/21. Wyatt finished the race in 2:12.03, 0.22 seconds shy of the program record and the fastest in the MIAC this season by more than six seconds.

Megan Geraets
Gustavus Adolphus College

Megan Geraets won a pair of events at the Maverick Invitational on 2/21, recording a long jump distance of 5.53 meters (18' 1.75") and becoming the first Gustie in program history to run the 400 meters in under 57 seconds, breaking her own program record with a time of 56.76. Geraets now ranks among NCAA Division III's top 15 in the 200 (10th), 400 (13th), and long jump (15th) this season.
