BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2025 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Tennis Playoffs continued on Thursday with a pair of semifinal matches. For the ninth time in the last ten conference tournaments, the MIAC Men's Tennis Playoff finale will feature Gustavus hosting Carleton.

Gustavus will once again host the MIAC Men's Tennis Playoff Championship after closing out St. Olaf, 4-0, in Thursday's first semifinal match. The Gusties got the doubles point with wins at the first and third spots before Marco Siviero, Dominik Knutson, and Taona Mhwandagara won their singles matches within three minutes of each other to secure the team victory. Siviero won, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3 singles, while Knutson earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot, and Mhwandagara took No. 6 singles by a margin of 6-2, 6-1.

Weather forced the match off-campus, but Carleton came away with a 4-0 win over Bethel in Owatonna on Thursday night. After wins at the second and third doubles positions, the Knights got singles victories from Aiden Patel (No. 2), Zach Leslie (No. 3), and Jack Rivkin (No. 5) to earn a trip back to the playoff championship. Patel won 6-0, 6-3, while Leslie took his match 6-3, 6-0, and Rivkin battled to a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 triumph.

The Knights and Gusties will now match up in the MIAC Men's Tennis Playoff Championship for the 15th time since 2007. Carleton upset Gustavus to win the playoff title in 2010 - the Gusties' only loss to a conference foe since the 1986 campaign.

Match time for Saturday's Championship contest will be determined by the results of the MIAC Women's Tennis semifinal matches on Friday. If Gustavus hosts both the men's and women's championship matches, the men's match will be played at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the women's match at 3:30 p.m. If Gustavus only hosts the men's match, the 2025 MIAC Men's Tennis Playoff Championship will be played at 1:00 p.m. The winning team will receive the MIAC playoff championship plaque and the conference's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament. Match dates, times, and locations are subject to change due to weather.
