MIAC announces 2025 Men's Outdoor Track & Field awards

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its annual award recipients for Men's Outdoor Track & Field on Thursday, capping off an outstanding championship meet last weekend.

The top three finishers in each event received All-MIAC honors, while individuals who finished 4-6 received All-Conference Honorable Mention distinction. MIAC track & field coaches also selected individual award recipients for Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

Saint John's senior Kevin Arthur was selected as the Track Athlete of the Year, while Bethel first-year Timmy Ball received both Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. Bethel head coach Andrew Rock was selected as the MIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.

Arthur (Sr. | Champlin, Minn. | Champlin Park) was named Track Athlete of the Year honors for an unprecedented fourth consecutive season after sweeping the 100- and 200-meter dash competitions for the fourth year in a row. In each event, Arthur's time ranked among the top three in NCAA Division III, as his time of 10.19 in the 100 ranks second in the country, and his 20.81 in the 200 is tied for third. Arthur also helped the Johnnies to victory in the 4x100-meter relay, winning in 40.29, a time that ranks ninth in D-III this season.

Ball (Fy. | Hugo, Minn. | Centennial) was named both Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year after winning the shot put and discus competitions in his outdoor championship debut. Ball won the shot put with a distance of 15.80 meters (51' 10") and claimed the discus victory with a mark of 51.25 meters (168' 1"). He is the second Royal to win each award - former BU thrower Gabe Irons was the MIAC Field Athlete of the Year in 2021, while Adam Hokanson received Rookie of the Year honors in 2023.

Rock (13th season) was celebrated by his peers as the Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year for the second straight season after leading the Royals to a second consecutive conference crown. Rock's squad earned five individual event titles and one relay championship, in addition to 21 All-Conference slots.

In addition to the top individual award winners, the 2025 All-Conference individuals and relay teams were also announced. Complete results and recaps of the 2025 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships can be found on the championship homepage.
