BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2025 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Tennis Playoffs continued on Friday with a pair of semifinal matches. No. 1 Gustavus prevailed over No. 4 St. Olaf, 4-0, while No. 2 Carleton defeated No. 3 Bethel, 4-1. The Gusties and Knights will now meet in the MIAC Playoff Championship match on Saturday.

The Knights are championship match-bound for the fourth consecutive postseason after topping Bethel by a 4-1 margin on Friday afternoon in Northfield. Carleton claimed two of the three doubles matches for the first point of the day before adding victories at the first, fourth, and fifth singles positions. Each bout was hotly-contested, as Carleton's Ryan Witter won the No. 5 singles match, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3), Kiley Pickens battled for the fourth spot, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, and Amelia Asfaw won the deciding point by bouncing back, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3. Michaella Sullivan earned a point for the Royals at No. 2 singles with a 7-5, 6-1 victory.

Gustavus is back in the title match for the fifth straight season following a 4-0 win over St. Olaf on Friday. The Gusties earned 6-0 wins at the second and third doubles positions to take the first point of the match, and closed out the Oles with wins at Nos. 1, 2, and 6 in the singles bouts. Brooke Haddorff finished her singles match in 44 minutes with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the sixth spot, before Karina Elvestrom (6-0, 6-1) and Kaya De Bruijn (6-2, 6-3) picked up wins at the top two positions, just past the one-hour mark.
Gustavus and Carleton will now meet in the playoff championship for the tenth time since 2007. The two programs have combined to win 15 of the 17 MIAC Women's Tennis Championships in playoff history and are an even 5-5 against each other in the postseason. Carleton has won seven playoff titles in program history, including each of the last three, while Gustavus has won eight postseason titles, with the most recent coming in 2018.
Gustavus will host Carleton for both the men's and women's playoff championships on Saturday. The men's championship match will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed by the women's championship at 3:30 p.m.
