MIAC soccer programs earn Team Academic Awards for 2024-25 academic year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches has recognized 13 soccer programs from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) for academic excellence during the 2024-25 academic year.
 
A total of 721 soccer teams (296 men, 425 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year. Of that total, 161 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.
 
Augsburg University, Gustavus Adolphus College, Macalester College, and St. Olaf College were among those 161 institutions with both men’s and women’s soccer programs receiving honors. The Carleton College men’s team, Hamline University women’s team, College of Saint Benedict women's team, St. Catherine University women's team, and Saint Mary’s University women’s team were also celebrated.
 
Macalester led all of NCAA men’s soccer with a team GPA of 3.83 for the 2024-25 academic year. The Scots have placed among the top three team GPAs in NCAA Division III and among the top four at all levels of NCAA soccer in each of the last six years. Macalester also recorded the highest team GPA among all divisions during the 2021-22 academic year and led all NCAA Division III programs during the 2019-20 season.
