BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – Gustavus Adolphus College pulled into the lead on Day 2 of the 2025 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Golf Championships with a second round score of 295 (+7) and a 36-hole total of 596 (+20) at Edinburgh Golf Course in Brooklyn Park.
The Gusties will take a four-shot lead into Monday's final round, with Bethel (+24) and Carleton (+26) - the 2023 and 2024 conference champions, respectively - right behind them. St. Olaf will enter the third round in fourth place at +34, followed by Saint John's (+39), Concordia (+44), Macalester (+47), Augsburg (+59), and St. Scholastica (+65).
Gustavus senior Wyatt Carlson remains atop the individual leaderboard with an even-par 72 on Sunday and a 1-under-par 143 through 36 holes. Bethel junior Jesse Balc carded a 1-under-par 71 in the second round to move into a tie with Carleton senior Sam Higaki for second place. Higaki posted the tournament's lowest 18-hole total thus far with a 3-under-par 69 on Sunday. Balc and Higaki each have scores of 146 (+2) heading into the final round.
TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES ON MONDAY
The three-day, 54-hole MIAC Men's Golf Championships conclude on Monday at Edinburgh Golf Course with the first tee time set for 8:48 a.m. The tournament's winner will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Golf Championships. The top 10 individual finishers will be named to the MIAC All-Championship team and automatically qualify for the 2025-26 All-Conference squad.
Spectators are welcome to attend the 2025 MIAC Golf Championships at the Edinburgh Golf Course and must follow all local and spectator rules. Please be advised that there will be no spectator carts available for use at Edinburgh.
