MIAC men's golfers earn academic honors

NORMAN, Okla. -- Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) men’s golfers received academic honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) this week.

261 NCAA Division III athletes from 95 schools earned 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors, including 17 from the MIAC. Carleton was one of just six NCAA Division III institutions with at least five recipients. Calvin had the most recipients from one school in NCAA Division III with six. 

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate’s degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Carleton, Gustavus, Saint John's, and St. Olaf were also amoung the GCAA-record 331 schools across six divisions to earn a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
