BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – Bethel University won its second consecutive Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Golf Championship on Monday afternoon at Edinburgh Golf Course in Brooklyn Park.
Bethel finished the three-day championship tournament with a team score of 883 (302-290-291, +19). With the victory, the Royals also punched their tickets to the 2027 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships on May 18-21, 2027, at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. This is Bethel's fourth MIAC title in program history (2014, 2023, 2025, 2026).
Saint John's finished as the conference runner-up at +35 over 54 holes, while Concordia took third at +38. Carleton placed fourth as a team at +40, followed by St. Olaf (+50), Augsburg (+64), Gustavus (+70), Macalester (+92), and St. Scholastica (+104).
On the individual leaderboard, Carleton senior Sam Higaki took home medalist honors and earned Edinburgh's exemption to the 2027 Minnesota State Open. Higaki finished the 54-hole tournament with a 3-under-par 213 (70-72-71), matching the tenth-lowest score in MIAC Men's Golf Championship history. Higaki also became just the 16th player in recorded MIAC Men's Golf history to earn All-Championship Team honors four times.
Joining Higaki on the All-Championship Team as the ten lowest scorers at the event were: Bethel's Sander Ohe (-2), Saint John's Nate Appelhof (+3), Concordia's Ryan Engel (+3), Concordia's Mitchell Dewey (+5), Bethel's Tyler Hoppe (+5), St. Olaf's Will Black (+6), Carleton's Justin Rodriguez (+6), Augsburg's Jack Berry (+7), and Bethel's Zeke Roberts (+8).
These ten All-Championship players will automatically earn 2026-27 All-Conference honors when postseason awards are announced in May.
