BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) women's basketball teams are 5-1, and four more are 4-2 heading into the second half of the 2025-26 season. Bethel, Concordia, and Saint Mary's currently occupy a three-way tie for first place in the conference standings, with Gustavus, Hamline, Saint Benedict, and St. Scholastica all just one game out of the top spot.

IN THE POLLS
Bethel is ranked No. 21 in the most recent D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll, released on Monday, January 12. Concordia, Saint Mary's, and Gustavus all received votes in the latest balloting.
The Royals and Cobbers also received votes in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Poll, released on Tuesday, January 13.
NATIONAL NOTABLES
Five MIAC women's basketball players have been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week this season. St. Scholastica sophomore guard Ava Haus (St. Michael, Minn. / STMA) and Concordia sophomore forward Maya Metcalf (West Fargo, N.D. / West Fargo Sheyenne) were selected following Week 5; Saint Mary's sophomore guard Brianna Nusbaum (Spring Lake Park, Minn. / Spring Lake Park) and Bethel graduate forward Elly Schmitz (Hermantown, Minn. / Hermantown) were selected following Week 4; and Carleton sophomore guard Addy Huss (Portland, Ore. / Cleveland) was selected after Week 2.
Concordia senior guard Molly Musland (LaMoure, N.D. / LaMoure) knocked down eight three-pointers against Carleton on 1/7, tied for the tenth-most in any NCAA Division III games this season.
St. Scholastica sophomore guard Evie Schmitz (Burnsville, Minn. / St. Louis Park) ranks ninth in NCAA Division III this season with a three-point shooting percentage of 45.5 (35-of-77).
AROUND THE MIAC
Augsburg sophomore forward Jada Stanford (Brooklyn Park, Minn. / Champlin Park) averaged 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, on 75.0 percent shooting from the field (12-of-16), in a 1-1 week for the Auggies. Stanford scored 18 points with nine rebounds, on 8-of-11 shooting, in the Auggies' 81-70 loss to St. Catherine on 1/7, before scoring 13 points with five rebounds and two assists, on 4-of-5 shooting, in Augsburg's 86-71 win over Macalester on 1/10.
Bethel senior guard Colette Duininck (Prinsburg, Minn. / Central Minnesota Christian) collected 11 steals to help the Royals earn a pair of conference wins over Saint Mary's and Carleton last week. Duininck logged six steals in a 70-69 win over the Cardinals on 1/7 and swiped another five against the Knights in a 62-55 decision on 1/10. She also contributed 12 assists and five rebounds for the week.
Carleton sophomore guard Addy Huss (Portland, Ore. / Cleveland) accounted for 22 of the Knights' 26 second-half points and finished with a game-high 27 points in a 62-55 loss to Bethel on 1/10. It was her sixth game of the season with 20 or more points. Huss also came up with a career-best six steals, the most by a Knight since 2/8/2023.
Concordia sophomore forward Maya Metcalf (West Fargo, N.D. / West Fargo Sheyenne) averaged 10.0 rebounds, 14.0 points, and 3.0 assists in three Cobber victories over the holiday break. Metcalf added six blocks and a steal on the defensive end to help Concordia improve to 10-1 on the year, giving the Cobbers their best start to a season since winning the NCAA Division III National Championship in 1988. After collecting six boards, two blocked shots, and a pair of steals in a win over Howard Payne on 12/28, Metcalf logged a season-high 15 rebounds to go along with another block in a two-point victory over Hardin-Simmons the following day. She then added nine boards, three blocks, and a steal in a decisive victory over St. Scholastica on 1/3 to hand the Saints their first loss of the season in conference play.
Gustavus junior forward Ella Peters (River Falls, Wis. / River Falls) scored 20 points for the third time in five games in the Gusties' 53-40 win over St. Catherine on 1/10. Peters scored 12 points in a win over St. Olaf on 1/7. She added 13 rebounds and four assists across the two games. Peters recorded a career-high 22 points against Bethel to begin the 2026 segment of the schedule on 1/3.
Hamline senior guard Camille Cummings (Lino Lakes, Minn. / Centennial) led the Pipers with 21 points against St. Scholastica on 1/7. Cummings knocked down 2-of-4 from long range and 7-of-10 from the line. She followed up with 16 points against Saint Benedict on 1/10 for her fourth consecutive game with double-digit points.
Macalester sophomore guard Cady Davis (Minneapolis, Minn. / Roosevelt) scored a career-best 19 points in the Scots' loss at Augsburg on 1/10. Davis entered the contest averaging 5.1 points per game and shooting 0.369 percent from the field before turning in a 7-for-11 (0.636) performance on the offensive end to go along with eight rebounds and a career-high four steals on defense.
Saint Benedict sophomore guard Drew Buslee (Eagan, Minn. / Eagan) has come away with multiple steals in 11 of her last 12 games, including a pair of eight-steal performances against non-conference opponents UW-Eau Claire (11/12/25) and Colorado College (11/28/25) in November. Buslee has stolen the ball at least three times in every game thus far in 2026, with four at Augsburg (1/3), four at Macalester (1/7), and three against Hamline (1/10).
Saint Mary's sophomore guard Brianna Nusbaum (Spring Lake Park, Minn. / Spring Lake Park) scored 30 points in the Cardinals' one-point loss to nationally-ranked Bethel on 1/7. Nusbaum was 11-for-22 in her second 30-point effort of the season, while knocking down 2-of-4 from beyond the arc and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. Nusbaum added 13 more points to go along with four steals in the Cardinals' upset victory over nationally-ranked Concordia on 1/10.
St. Catherine junior guard Hattie Fox (Osceola, Wis. / Osceola) was 6-for-9 from the field and a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line to lead all scorers with 23 points in the Wildcats' 81-70 road win at Augsburg on 1/7. Fox added five boards and a pair of steals in the win. It was her fourth 20-point performance of the season and her fourth consecutive game finishing in double figures.
St. Olaf first-year forward Erin Schauer (Madison, Wis. / Edgewood) averaged 21.5 points per game while shooting 45.2 percent (14-for-31) from the field, 42.9 percent (6-for-14) from three-point range, and 81.8 percent (9-for-11) from the free-throw line in two games for the Oles over the holiday break. After scoring 14 points and coming away with six steals in a road loss at Bethany Lutheran on New Year's Eve, the first-year forward exploded for 29 points - including 24 in the second half - in a four-point loss at Carleton on 1/3. Her 29-point performance is the highest single-game point total by a St. Olaf women's basketball player in more than six seasons.
St. Scholastica sophomore guard Ava Haus (St. Michael, Minn. / STMA) closed out 2025 with 20-point performances in four of her final five games of the calendar year. Haus has reached double figures in all but one game this season, including scoring outbursts of 23 and 22 points against Carleton (12/6/25) and St. Catherine (12/12/25), respectively, in December.
