Concordia names Finnian O'Donnell head men's tennis coach

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Concordia Athletic Director Rachel Bergeson announced that Finnian O'Donnell has been hired as the head coach of the Cobber men's tennis program.

O'Donnell takes over for David Youngs, who stepped down from the position in December.

O'Donnell becomes the 10th head coach in program history since 1980.

"I am excited to welcome Finn to Cobber Athletics," Bergeson said. "He comes to us highly recommended and is well-respected in our tennis community and incredibly passionate about developing tennis players."

O'Donnell is the current head coach for the Fargo Shanley High School boys' tennis team and has spent the past several years as a tennis pro at Courts Plus Community Fitness in Fargo, N.D.

"I am super excited to work with the Cobber men's tennis team," O'Donnell said. "The team has a lot of great leaders who understand what it takes to excel on the court and in the classroom. I hope that I can continue to grow the team and create a culture that the players want to be a part of."

O'Donnell graduated from North Dakota State where he played for the school's club team. Before his time at NDSU, he was also standout player at Fargo Shanley High School.
