BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Basketball Playoffs continued on Thursday night with a pair of semifinal contests.
In the first matchup of the evening, No. 2 Saint John's defeated No. 4 Concordia, 75-68, before No. 1 Gustavus topped No. 6 Augsburg, 84-68.
The Gusties will host the Johnnies in the MIAC Playoff Championship game on Saturday night, with tip-off tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

-For the fourth time in the last five games, Saint John's first-year guard Peyton Podany surpassed the 20-point plateau, scoring a game-high 24 points to lead the Johnnies. Podany went 9-for-11 from the free-throw line in the game.
-Baiden Bean scored 15 of his 19 points from beyond the arc. The Johnnie guard was 7-for-10 from the floor and 5-for-7 from long range. He also collected eight assists and three steals.
-Concordia forward Jacob Cook recorded a 23-point, 11-rebound double-double.
-This will be the Johnnies' seventh MIAC title game appearance in the last decade. SJU has won four of the last six MIAC tournaments, including last year's.

-The Gusties scored their first basket ten seconds into the game and never looked back. Gustavus doubled up the Auggies in the paint, scoring 52 points down low, compared to 26 post points from Augsburg.
-Four Gusties finished in double figures, led by Myles Barnette's 21-point effort.
-Augsburg guard JJ Semanko led all scorers with 23 points in the game. Semanko also had 12 boards for a double-double.
-Gustavus is back in the playoff championship game for the second time in three seasons and will be playing for its eleventh MIAC postseason title.
PLAYOFF CHAMPIONSHIP SET FOR SATURDAY
-No. 1 Gustavus will host No. 2 Saint John's in the MIAC Playoff championship. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. Saturday in St. Peter.
-Gustavus holds a 5-3 advantage over Saint John's in MIAC playoff matchups, though the Johnnies are 2-1 in championship games against the Gusties. This will be the first MIAC Playoff Championship matchup between the two programs since 2001. The Gusties swept the regular-season series.
-The MIAC Playoff champion will receive the postseason championship trophy and the conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.

Tickets for Saturday's championship game are on sale now. All tickets will be sold and purchased online via HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at any venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device, including while at the venue. General admission adult tickets are $12 (plus HTT service charge). Student (with ID) tickets are $3 (plus HTT service charge), and children ages five and under are admitted free.

The 2026 MIAC Men's Basketball Playoffs will be streamed live on the MIAC Sports Network in a pay-per-view format. Individual playoff contests will be streamed for $10 each, or $25 for a "championship pass" to stream the entire tournament live. On-demand access to playoff games will be available after the NCAA Tournament concludes.
