MIAC Athletes of the Week - February 3, 2026

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for swimming & diving and indoor track & field on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Carleton, Gustavus, Hamline, Macalester, Saint John's, St. Olaf, and St. Scholastica claimed the Conference's weekly honors.

The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the winter season, team sports (basketball, hockey, and tennis) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming & diving and indoor track & field) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week
Britton Patee
Gustavus Adolphus College

Britton Patee picked up four individual event victories and was part of a pair of runner-up relays at the Gustie Challenge on 1/30-31. Patee recorded the top time in the MIAC this season in the 200 butterfly at 1:55.49, in addition to touching the wall first in the 400 individual medley (4:11.93), 500 freestyle (4:49.56), and 1650 freestyle (16:56.67). Patee also helped Gustavus to second-place finishes in the 400 freestyle relay (3:15.65) and 400 medley relay (3:44.28).

Henry Hilgendorf was the top Division III diver at the St. Cloud State Diving Invitational on 1/31. Hilgendorf posted an 11-dive score of 391.35 off the 1-meter board.


MIAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week
Katelyn Siers
Gustavus Adolphus College

Katelyn Siers picked up a pair of individual event victories and a runner-up finish in addition to swimming in five relay events at the Gustie Challenge on 1/30-31. Siers won the 100 (1:01.20) and 200 (2:13.45) backstroke competitions and placed second in the 50 freestyle (24.86). She also helped the Gusties take second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.54), 400 medley relay (4:06.75), and 800 freestyle relay (8:35.43), and third in the 200 medley relay (1:54.71) and 400 freestyle relay (3:46.29).

MIAC Women's Diving Athlete of the Week

Nina Schwab won the diving competition in the Knights' dual meet at St. Olaf on 1/31. Schwab set new 6-dive and 11-dive program records off the 1-meter board with scores of 326.10 and 525.35, respectively.


MIAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

St. Olaf College

Lake Elmo, Minn. / Minnehaha Academy

Cullen Moore ran the third-fastest 800-meter time in NCAA Division III this season, winning the event in 1:52.77 at the St. Olaf Invitational & Multi on 1/31. Moore's time was less than four-tenths of a second off the program record and is the fastest in the MIAC this season. Moore also ran on the Oles' 4x400-meter relay that won in 3:23.55.

Trent Beseth

Trent Beseth swept the throwing competitions at the St. Olaf Invitational & Multi on 1/31. Beseth set a program record with a weight throw of 18.60 meters (61' 0.25"), good for the ninth-best distance in NCAA Division III this season. Beseth also won the shot put with a throw of 17.41 meters (57' 1.5"). That distance would rank fourth in D-III this season; Beseth's December distance of 18.12 meters (59' 5.5") remains No. 1 in the country.


MIAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Ariella Rogahn-Press won the 200 meters at the St. Olaf Invitational & Multi with a time of 25.15. Her converted time of 24.77 ranks No. 11 in NCAA Division III this season. Rogahn-Press also helped the Scots place third in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:47.97.


MIAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

Hamline University

Lexi Brainer broke the all-time MIAC record in the women's weight throw with a distance of 17.71 meters (58' 1.25") at the Jack Johnson Classic on 1/30. The previous conference record of 17.66 meters had stood for over a quarter of a century. Brainer's distance ranks fourth in NCAA Division III this season.
