MIAC Athletes of the Week - April 21, 2026

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for outdoor track & field and golf on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Augsburg, Gustavus, Hamline, Macalester, St. Catherine, and St. Olaf claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
 
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the spring season, team sports (baseball, softball, and tennis) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (outdoor track & field and golf) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

Cullen Moore ran a top-20 national time in the 800-meter run (1:51.66) while representing the Oles at the Bryan Clay Invite in Azusa, California, on 4/17. Moore's time ranks No. 4 on St. Olaf's all-time list, No. 1 in the MIAC this season, and No. 16 in NCAA Division III.
 
MIAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

Isaiah Watson jumped a lifetime best distance of 14.90 meters (48' 10.75") in the triple jump at the Gustie Twilight on 4/15. The mark ranks No. 2 in program history, No. 1 in the MIAC this season, and No. 5 in NCAA Division III.

Molly Liston crushed the Gusties' 10,000-meter program record at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on 4/16, finishing the race in 35:36.38. Liston won the race by just under 29 seconds. The previous program record of 36:10.38 had stood since 2016. A personal record by nearly three-and-a-half minutes, Liston's time now ranks No. 15 in NCAA Division III this season.
 
MIAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Tessa Myatt

Tessa Myatt broke a 25-year-old program record in the heptathlon by scoring 4,443 points at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on 4/17. Myatt set or tied three personal bests while scoring 448 more points than her previous high score of 3,955. Myatt opened the competition with a time of 16.20 in the 100-meter hurdles, then matched her personal best of 1.59 meters (5' 2.50") in the high jump. She also recorded a shot put distance of 12.75 meters (41' 10") and set another PR in the 200 meters with a time of 28.19. Myatt finished out the competition with a long jump of 4.94 meters (16' 2.50"), an 800-meter run time of 2:32.74, and a javelin throw of 31.24 meters (102' 6") for another personal record. Myatt's final score currently ranks 22nd in Division III.

Jack Berry earned medalist honors at the Bobby Krig Invitational on 4/18-19 with a 2-over-par total of 215 (72-73-70) at the three-round, 97-golfer meet. Berry claimed 12 birdies over 54 holes and punctuated his play with a third-round score of 70. This was Berry's second medalist honor in as many meets, having also finished atop the individual leaderboard at the Auggies' Spring Invitational on 4/12-13.

MIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week

Caylin Cantwell led the Wildcats to a first-place finish at the Mount Mercy University Spring Invite on 4/13-14, shooting back-to-back rounds of 74 to earn individual runner-up honors. Cantwell was also the Wildcats' top finisher in match play at the Rumble at the Ridge, collecting a 7&5 victory over CSB after the 13th hole at Onkea Ridge Golf Club on 4/19.
