Knights' Hans Anderson named to CSC Academic All-America Team

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – For the second consecutive year, Carleton College diver Hans Anderson was voted to the Academic All-America® Men's Swimming & Diving Team selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for his performance both in the pool and the classroom. Anderson, a chemistry major, was named to the AAA first team this time around after earning second team recognition last season.

A total of 25 swimmers and divers were named to the Academic All-America list for NCAA Division III, with eight on the first team, 10 on the second, and seven more on the third. Only 0.78 percent of all NCAA men's swimmers and divers earned All-America recognition.

This is the seventh time that a member of Carleton men's swimming & diving program has earned Academic All-America recognition.

With women's diver Nina Schwab receiving the award yesterday and Anderson taking home honors 24 hours later, Carleton student-athlete have now earned 42 Academic All-America awards overall, with 12 of those being first-team selections, 22 second-team selections, and 8 third-teamers (see full list below).

Anderson is the fifth Carleton student-athlete to earn multiple Academic All-America awards, joining Ted Marschall (men's swim & dive in 2008 & 2009), Simone Childs-Walker (women's track & field in 2011 & 2012), Amelia Campbell (women's track & field in 2015 & 2016), and Matt Wilkinson (men's track & field in 2020 & 2021)

Anderson qualified for the NCAA Championships on both boards for the second consecutive season, finishing 22nd on the 3-meter board and 18th on the lower board. He was named the MIAC's Diver of the Year after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions at the conference meet for the second straight season and will graduate as a four-time MIAC champion.
