BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) golf teams will be in action early and often with the 2023 Fall Championships already only a little more than a month away.
Augsburg and Saint Benedict are set to host their respective annual men’s and women’s invitationals on opening weekend, while Bethel will host a men’s invite beginning on September 9 and MIAC women’s teams will split between meets at Wartburg and UW-Eau Claire. Saint John’s will hold its fall invitational beginning on September 16 while Gustavus will do the same on the women’s side. St. Catherine is set to host a two-day women’s tournament on September 23-24 and Gustavus will host its three-day men’s tournament on September 23-25 to close out the pre-championship portion of the fall schedule.
After three seasons of joint championships, MIAC men’s and women’s teams will separate this fall for their respective title meets. The 2023 MIAC Men’s Golf Championships will be held September 30 - October 2 at Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Creek, while the 2023 MIAC Women’s Golf Championships will head to The Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo October 7-9.
The winners of the Men’s and Women’s MIAC Golf Championships will earn the conference’s automatic qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Division III Golf Championships. The Men’s Championships will be played May 14-17, 2024 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., while the Women’s Championships will follow on May 21-24, 2024 at Keene Trace in Nicholasville, Ky.

RULE CHANGES
The NCAA announced in July that Spikemark Golf will become the provider for all golf scoring and ranking services used by the Association beginning with the 2023-24 season. As a result, the MIAC will be transitioning from Golfstat to Spikemark as the live scoring provider for the 2023 MIAC Golf Championships later this fall. Several MIAC tournament hosts will also utilize Spikemark for live scoring during the regular season. More information and links regarding live scoring for the MIAC Championships will be added to the respective championship pages in the coming weeks.
MIAC APP
The MIAC debuted its refreshed mobile app last summer in partnership with SIDEARM Sports. The app is free to fans and can be downloaded on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for Android devices.
AWARD WATCH
The MIAC Men’s and Women’s All-Conference honorees will be announced in May and consist of 15 players for each sport. The top 10 finishers from the MIAC Golf Championships in October will automatically earn All-Conference distinction. Coaches will also vote for five additional All-Conference honorees based on their play in both the fall and spring segments of the season. In addition to All-Conference honors and any honorable mention distinctions, coaches will also vote for Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year awards in the spring. To be eligible for Rookie of the Year honors, a student-athlete must be a true college first-year student (not a transfer from another institution or an academic sophomore/junior/senior who has not used eligibility.
Throughout the regular season, the MIAC will recognize top individual performances with the MIAC Golf Athlete of the Week awards. Golf Athlete of the Week awards will be issued throughout the academic year when at least three MIAC teams have competed in a given week and nominations for outstanding performances have been submitted.
