2024-25 MIAC Golf Season Preview

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) golf teams will be back in action this weekend in preparation for the 2024 Fall Championships.
 
Augsburg and Saint Benedict are set to host their respective annual men's and women's invitationals on opening weekend, while Bethel will host a men's invite beginning on September 7 and MIAC women's teams will split among meets hosted by Carleton, Wartburg, and UW-Eau Claire. Saint John's will hold its men's fall invitational beginning on September 14, the same day St. Catherine will host a women's fall tournament. Gustavus will also host its women's D3 Classic on September 21 and the men's Twin Cities Classic the following weekend.
 
MIAC men's and women's teams will hold separate championships again this fall. The 2024 MIAC Women's Golf Championships will be held September 28-30 at the St. Cloud Country Club in St. Cloud. The MIAC Men's Golf Championships will follow October 5-7 at Braemar Golf Club in Edina.
 
The winners of the Men's and Women's MIAC Golf Championships will earn the conference's automatic qualifiers for the 2025 NCAA Division III Golf Championships. The Women's Championships will be played May 13 - 16, 2025 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas, while the Men's Championships will be held May 20 - 23, 2025 at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, New York.

RULE CHANGES
It was announced last fall that Clippd will provide NCAA golf scoring and ranking services moving forward. Several MIAC tournament hosts will also utilize Clippd for live scoring during the regular season. More information and links regarding live scoring for the MIAC Championships will be added to the respective championship pages in the coming weeks.

MIAC APP
The MIAC mobile app remains free to fans and can be downloaded on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for Android devices. The app includes news, standings, and links to follow scores and stats in real-time.

AWARD WATCH
The MIAC Men's and Women's All-Conference honorees will be announced in May and consist of 15 players for each sport. The top 10 finishers from the MIAC Golf Championships in October will automatically earn All-Conference distinction. Coaches will also vote for five additional All-Conference honorees based on their play in both the fall and spring segments of the season. In addition to All-Conference honors and any honorable mention distinctions, coaches will also vote for Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year awards in the spring. To be eligible for Rookie of the Year honors, a student-athlete must be a true college first-year student (not a transfer from another institution or an academic sophomore/junior/senior who has not used eligibility.
 
Throughout the regular season, the MIAC will recognize top individual performances with the MIAC Golf Athlete of the Week awards. Golf Athlete of the Week awards will be issued throughout the academic year when at least three MIAC teams have competed in a given week and nominations for outstanding performances have been submitted.
