FARMINGTON, Minn. – Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) golf teams return to the course next weekend for the start of an action-packed month of competition before the 2026 MIAC Championships in October.
Augsburg and Saint Benedict will host their respective annual men's and women's invitationals on opening weekend. The D3 Classic (September 12-13), St. Kate's Invitational (September 19-20), and Carleton Invitational (September 26-27) are among the highlights of the women's schedule before teams return to Edina for the 2026 MIAC Women's Golf Championships at Braemar Golf Club on October 2-4.
The Minnesota Golf Classic (September 20-21), Saint John's Fall Invitational (September 26-27), and Twin Cities Classic (October 3-5) will be familiar events for the men's squads before they head back to Edinburgh Golf Course in Brooklyn Park for the 2026 MIAC Men's Golf Championships on October 10-12.
The winners of the Men's and Women's MIAC Golf Championships will earn the conference's automatic qualifiers for the 2027 NCAA Division III Golf Championships. Both the men's and women's national championships will be played at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, this season. The women's championships are scheduled for May 11-14, 2027, with the men's championships to follow on May 18-21, 2027.

AWARD WATCH
The MIAC Men's and Women's All-Conference honorees will be announced in May and consist of 15 players for each sport. The top 10 finishers from the MIAC Golf Championships in September and October will automatically earn All-Conference distinction. Coaches will also vote for five additional All-Conference honorees based on their play in both the fall and spring segments of the season. In addition to All-Conference honors and any honorable mention distinctions, coaches will also vote for Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year awards in the spring. To be eligible for Rookie of the Year honors, a student-athlete must be a true college first-year student (not a transfer from another institution or an academic sophomore/junior/senior who has not used eligibility.
Throughout the regular season, the MIAC will recognize top individual performances with the MIAC Golf Athlete of the Week awards. Golf Athlete of the Week awards will be issued throughout the academic year when at least three MIAC teams have competed in a given week, and nominations for outstanding performances have been submitted.
